OHPC General Manager Goes Missing, Wife Lodges Police Complaint

Bhawanipatna: The General Manager of Upper Indravati Hydro Electric Project (UIHEP) under Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC) Ltd at Mukhiguda in Kalahandi district has gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

As per reports, Narayan Prasad Meher went to his office in Mukhiguda on Tuesday but didn’t return home. He has since been reported as missing by his wife Surekha Meher, who filed a complaint in Jaipatna police station after frantic search by his family members bore no fruit.

While his wife Surekha denied any family dispute behind his sudden disappearance, the Unit Head of UIHEP, Ashish Kumar Mohanty too refuted any professional dispute in his office.

Upon enquiry by mediapersons, Surekha said, “My husband set out for office at around 10:30 AM on Tuesday, and hasn't return home since then. Though I have lodged a complaint at the police station, police is yet to make any headway in the matter.”

Premananda Sahoo, the police officer investigating the case said, “We have already launched a probe. Surekha Meher has complained about her missing husband and we have registered a missing complaint under 42/19 in our register.”
