Jagatsinghpur: A man died soon after he was allegedly administered an injection at a medicine store at Atharbanki area in Jagatsinghpur district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Rabindra Sahu.

The family members alleged that Rabindra died as he was administered the wrong injections.

As per reports, Rabindra, who hailed from Kendrapara district and was eking out a living by running an eatery shop at Gadabazar area, had called up one of his friends after he complained of pain in chest and hands in the morning.

Later, Rabindra went to a local medicine store with his friend where he was administered two injections and given two tablets.

“My husband fell down while returning from the pharmacy. Though he was rushed to the Atharbanki hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead. He died because of a wrong dose,” alleged Rina Sahu, wife of deceased Rabindra.

The family members of the deceased have lodged a police complaint against the concerned pharmacy in connection with the negligence.

“The patient had already died when he was brought to the hospital. The exact reason behind his death can be ascertained only after a post-mortem,” said Subhalagna Das, a doctor at Atharbanki hospital.
