Odisha Woman Kills Husband With Pestle, Confesses To Crime After 3 Months

Khordha: A woman was arrested on Wednesday after she confessed that she killed her husband following a quarrel three months back.

The shocking incident came to light after the police exhumed the decomposed body of Nidhi Giri at Banamalipur under Balipatna police limits of Khordha today.

Lili Sahoo, the accused, has confessed to have killed her husband with the help of a pestle.

"She killed her husband and buried his body in the backyard of their house. She pleaded guilty to the crime before the head of our village today. We contacted the police following which a scientific team rushed to the village and retrieved the body," Rabi Pradhan, a local resident said.

"The couple used to quarrel frequently, but we have not seen the man for the last three months. When we inquired about his whereabouts, she used to lie that her husband had gone somewhere," he added.

The body was retrieved by the police and a forensic team in the presence of Balipatna Additional Tehsildar Bivas Panigrahi. "The remains will be sent for forensic examination," he said.
