Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered the highest single-day spike of 1833 COVID-19 cases pushing the virus tally to 42550, as per the data shared by I&PR Department.
Of the fresh cases reported from 29 districts of the State, 1118 cases were detected from quarantine centres while 715 are local contact cases.
The maximum 298 cases were reported from Khurda district followed by Ganjam with 279 cases, added the I&PR department. This is the first time that Khurda has surpassed Ganjam district in the daily Covid-19 caseload.
On the other hand, Rayagada district reported 152 cases followed by Cuttack (124), and Sundergarh (110). List of new cases in other districts are mentioned below:

A total of 16,055 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in Odisha taking the cumulative number of tests to 616646.
