Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar has predicted rainfall in several places across Odisha over a period of five days till April 9.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak between 8:30 AM on April 5 and 8:30 AM on April 6. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts. Yellow warning has been issued over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nayagarh, Balasore and Mayurbhanj.

Similarly, between April 6 to 8:30 AM on April 7, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is predicted at a few places over the districts of South Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of North Odisha between 8:30 AM on April 7 and 8:30 AM on April 8. Yellow warning has been issued over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Bolangir,  Boudh, Nayagarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

On April 9, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places till 8:30 AM. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

There will be no large change in Maximum Temperature(Day Temperature) during next four to five days over the districts, the weather department has predicted.

The highest maximum temperature in Odisha was recorded in Malkangiri today which touched 40 degrees Celsius.
