Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall activity in the next five days, as per the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

The State has already been experiencing enhanced rainfall activity under the influence of a low pressure area over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast.

The low pressure area now lies over Northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off Odisha & north Andhra Pradesh coasts with an associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards.

The Meteorological Centre has also issued a special advisory in view of heavy rainfall in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Day 1 (Valid from October 2 upto 0830 hrs IST of October 3)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of coastal and interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning ( Be updated): Heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Puri, Ganjam and Kandhamal.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 3 upto 0830 hrs IST of October 4)

Yellow Warning ( Be updated):

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Boudh, Ganjam, Puri, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 4 upto 0830 hrs IST of October 5)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at most places over the districts of south Odisha and other parts of North Odisha.

Yellow Warning ( Be updated):

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, and Ganjam.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 5 upto 0830 hrs IST of October 6)

Yellow Warning ( Be updated): Heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Balasore, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 6 upto 0830 hrs IST of October 7)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely to occur at most places over the districts of interior Odisha and coastal Odisha.

Yellow Warning ( Be updated):

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh.
