Subarnapur: A joint squad of Sambalpur and Sonepur Vigilance department on Wednesday raided the residence of a primary school teacher at Laturpet in the district in connection with a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.

Following allegations that the teacher of Patharaghata primary school, Santosh Sahoo, has amassed properties disproportionate to his known sources of income, the Vigilance sleuths carried out the raid on his house. They also verified several vital documents, including bank passbooks and official papers.

Earlier on December 30 last year, vigilance sleuths had carried out raids at the residences and offices of three officials at several places in the State over disproportionate assets cases.

The anti-graft agency had conducted raids on the house of Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) working at a court in Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

In separate incident, the anti-corruption agency had conducted searches at the residence of Ramesh Panda, a retired driver of Indravati Project at Dharmagarh in Kalahandi district.

In another similar case, an employee of WESCO (Western Electricity Supply Company of Odisha) had been trapped in the vigilance net in Bolangir district.
