Odisha Vigilance Net On 3 ITDA Engineers

Nabarangpur: Vigilance officials on Thursday detained Sarat Kumar Majhi, In-charge Executive Engineer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Nabarangpur and two other Executive Engineers of the department named Baikuntanath Behera and Pramod Kumar Pradhan on charges of carrying unaccounted cash in their official vehicle.

Acting on a complaint, sleuths of the anti-corruption agency intercepted a Bolero van near Deer Park in Papadahandi and seized over Rs 3 lakh unaccounted cash. The Vigilance sleuths detained the three officials to enquire about the source of the cash and their planned destination.

However, during preliminary interrogation, the cash bag was found be that of Pramod Kumar Behera.

Speaking to reporters, Kalabati Bagh, DSP Vigilance In-charge said, “We had input about three ITDA engineers carrying huge cash amount in the official car from Nabarangpur to Papadahandi. We confiscated the cash bag and are verifying information in office.
