Odisha: Two Youths Thrashed On Suspicion Of Being Child Lifters In Balasore

Balasore: Two youths were thrashed by villagers on suspicion of being child lifters at Rasalpur village under Kamardha Police limits of Balasore district late on Thursday night.

As per reports, four youths been identified as residents of Deula area under Bhogarai block came in a car to the village and tried to barge into a villager Abhimanyu Behera's house at around 3 am.

When Behera's family members stopped them, they forcefully tried to enter the house. Some villagers rushed to the spot after hearing Behera's family screams following which a faceoff broke out between the youths and the villagers.

In the meantime, two of the four youths managed to flee the spot while the other two were overpowered by the villagers. Later, the villagers tied the hands and legs of the two youths with ropes and beat them black and blue.

The infuriated villagers also vandalised their car and threw it in a nearby nullah. The two were reportedly handed over to the local police in the morning today. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the other two absconding youths. Further investigation into the incident is on.
