Odisha: Two Killed, 30 Injured In Separate Bus Mishaps

Titilagarh/Nayagarh: Two persons lost their lives while over 30 others sustained injuries in separate bus accidents in Bolangir and Nayagarh district on Saturday.

A bus overturned near Sindhekela under Turukbhata police limits in Titilagarh, killing one person and leaving 20 others injured. The mishap occurred at 3.30 pm when the bus was on its way to Khariar from Bhawanipatna.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital.

Similarly, the helper of a bus was killed and 10 passengers suffered injuries after the vehicle turned turtle in Khandapada area of Nayagarh district today.

According to sources, the private bus named Choudhury was heading to Baramba-Narasinghpur of Cuttack from Berhampur when the mishap occurred.

Khandapada police and fire brigade reached the spot and carried out rescue operations.

Three of the injured were admitted to Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital while seven others shifted to Khandpada Community Health Centre for treatment. The health condition of five injured was stated to be critical.
