Berhampur: The vigilance sleuths today conducted searches in houses, office and property of two junior clerks based on the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

According to reports, as many as eight teams conducted simultaneous raids at four places including the houses of Surya Narayan Tripathy - Junior Accountant at the Divisional Forest Office in Berhampur early morning today.

"In course of search, Tripathy has been found in possession of assets including a house in Bada Sahi in Kamapalli area, a flat in Aashiyana Apartments in Ankuli, two plots, and Rs 40000 so far," informed Vigilance DSP Shantanu Padhi.

The anti-corruption officials also raided houses and office of Junior Accountant of Chilika Wildlife Division Nabin Chandra Bisoyi over DA charges.

Padhi mentioned that the exact figures of assets unearthed from their possession is yet to be ascertained as an enquiry is still in progress. It is being said that the duo has deposits in different banks, gold ornaments, unaccounted cash and other household articles.
