Bhubaneswar: Normal life was affected across Odisha today as the State continued to reel under intense heat wave with 6 places recording temperature above 45 degree Celsius and 15 places recording above 40 degree Celsius.

As per the latest data of the Indian Meteorological Department(IMD), Sambalpur recorded the highest temperature of 45.6 degree Celsius followed by Talcher with 45.3, Hirakud-45.2, Sonepur-45.2, Jharsuguda-45.0, Titlagarh-45.0, Sundergarh-44.5 and Angul-43.9 degree Celsius.

While Malkangiri recorded a temperature of 42.6 degree C, mercury touched 42.5 in Bolangir followed by capital city Bhubaneswar with 42.4, Bhawanipatna-41.8, Keonjhar-40.9, Chandbali-40.8 and Cuttack 40.5 deg C.

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued heat wave warning till June 13 in Odisha.The heat wave warning was issued for 10 districts including Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir and Nuapada.
