Bhubaneswar: SK Behera, train conductor of Rajdhani Express never imagined that his simple act of honesty would earn him appreciation from different quarters. Behera played a crucial role in helping the Indian Railways return a jacket containing Rs 92,000 cash and other documents to its rightful owner.

Behera, who was posted as train conductor of Rajdhani Express in Bhubaneswar, stumbled upon the jacket, probably left behind by its owner inside A-1 coach. Surprisingly, the jacket which belonged to one Vinay Jaiswal had Rs 92,000 cash and a passport.

The passenger had left his jacket behind and de-trained at Delhi. Senior officials informed that initially the contents inside the jacket were checked and later Behera found the money inside it.

As the contact details of the passenger were not available, efforts were made to find details though the feedback system and luckily the staff found his mobile number. Later, Behera contacted the passenger and the jacket and its contents were subsequently handed over to the relatives of the passenger at Kanpur Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier this month, Rayagada Railway Protection Force (RPF) had received appreciation after its alert personnel helped a businessman recover a bag containing Rs 4.5 lakh which the latter had forgotten inside a coach of Samata Express.

The businessman, SK Yajdani had reportedly left behind the bag in B-4 coach of the Express train which he had boarded from Visakhapatnam. Later, a team of RPF staff initiated measures and immediately left for Singapur station by road and recovered the cash bag from the train.
