Odisha To Launch ‘Mo Sarkar’ Tomorrow To Collect Feedback From Citizens

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme in police stations and hospitals tomorrow.

Ahead of the launch, Police Commissioner Sudhansu Sarangi and Director General of Police BK Sharma have already reviewed the functioning of the call centres and collected feedback from various complainants coming to police stations for redressal of their grievances. The Chief Minister had also spoken to in-charges of police stations and representatives of different hospitals through video conferencing. Under the new programme, the CM will collect feedback from 10 complainants everyday on their experience at police stations and their phone numbers will be registered on ‘Mo Sarkar’ portal.

Similarly, feedback on healthcare, supply of medicines, and ambulance service in hospitals will also be collected by the CM and the concerned minister. Apart from that orders have been given to remove middlemen and brokers from hospitals.

“This is the first such type of programme in the country. Any cop found guilty of misbehaviour or any other wrongdoing will face strict punishment,” said Sarangi.

Superintendent of SCB Medical College &Hospital, CBK Mohanty said, “As per the Mo Sarkar guidelines, we will provide data of patients from whom feedback can be collected.”

However, the opposition parties are critical of the programme raising questions on its implementation.

“There is no problem in the scheme but are there enough people to implement it properly?” questioned Odisha BJP State vice-president, Samir Mohanty.

Odisha Congress Chief NiranjanPatnaik said, “Instead of Mo Sarkar they should have named it Ama Sarkar. What they could not do in 20 years, now they are planning to do the same.”

Information and Public Relations Minister Raghunandan Das said, “After getting feedback, steps will be taken to resolve the issues if found.”
