Bhubaneswar: The new agriculture policy, which was conceived way back in the year 2013, may get introduced soon after a long wait. A meeting led by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi was held regarding the same today.

After the meeting, Agriculture Department secretary Sourav Garg informed that with the introduction of new agriculture policy, focus will be laid on boosting farmers' income. As per reports, the Agriculture department sought advice from several departments before drafting the policy. Later, a blueprint will be prepared after reviewing all the suggestions, informed sources.

"Our focus will be to boost income of farmers. Considering the market situation and farmers' output, this new policy will be introduced. Discussions are underway and it is still in the draft phase," Garg said.
