Kamila said that a foreign post office will help people to send and receive parcels and correspondence from abroad easily. Currently, parcels meant for international destinations are taken to the Calcutta-based foreign post office for sorting and other documentation following which they are despatched.

The CPMG further informed that while there is a National Parcel Hub (NPH) in Bhubaneswar, seven other hubs will be set up in Cuttack, Jajpur Road, Balasore, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Berhampur, and Jeypore.

With two new Postal Divisions in Rourkela and Rayagada, the number of postal divisions in the State has increased to 20, he added. Passport service centres, Aadhar card registration and correction centres and railway ticket booking centres have been set up in the postal divisions for customers, said Santosh Kumar.
