Odisha Teacher Thrashed For 'Misbehaving' With Girl Student, Video Goes Viral

Malkangiri: A teacher in remote Malkangiri district drew public wrath for allegedly misbehaving with a girl student of Kotamateru residential school.

As per reports, the teacher Ashwini Dehury had called the girl student on the pretext of checking her answer sheets. It is alleged that Dehury misbehaved with the girl student and tried to touch her inappropriately.

After getting information, villagers rushed to the school and thrashed the teacher. Later, the mob also tied the teacher to the school gate.

Though the incident occurred a few days back, the matter came to light after the video of the teacher being thrashed by the villagers went viral on social media.

District Welfare Officer, Pradipta Kumar Panda informed that a joint inquiry by two officials is underway and appropriate action will be taken against those who will be found guilty.
