Bhubaneswar: A team of 10 school students of Odisha from Navonmesh Prasar Student Astronomy Team (NaPSAT), led by scientist Anil Pradhan, brought laurels for the State by winning the third prize in the high school division of  prestigious NASA Rover Challenge 2021.

The team from Odisha was also honoured with the ‘Best Videography Award’ via virtual platform on Friday.

The young talents from the State under the stewardship of Pradhan from Bayalis Mouza were selected for the Rover challenge competition amid the Covid-19 pandemic in November 2020.

NaPSAT is an initiative of Bhubaneswar-based Navonmesh Prasar Foundation. The team comprised space enthusiasts who were engaged in projects like designing of space systems, rovers, rockets, and satellites for the event.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated NaPSAT students for their achievement.

“This stellar achievement puts the institute on the global map and will inspire more budding scientists and innovators. Best wishes for future,” tweeted Patnaik.

 

NASA also congratulated the members of NaPSAT for winning the third prize in the prestigious competition.

“Congratulations to (NaPSAT), Odisha for securing the third position in NASA Rover Challenge 2021,” NASA tweeted.
