Odisha: Stone Idol Falls On Servitor At Ugra Nrusingha Temple In Puri

Puri: A servitor sustained critical injuries on his leg after portion of a stone idol fell on him at Ugra Nrusingha temple located in front of the west gate of Sri Jagannath Temple on Sunday.

The servitor, identified as Jambeswar Mohapatra suffered bone fracture on his right leg. He was admitted to district headquarters hospital where doctors referred him to Bhubaneswar.

The incident took place while he was conducting rituals in the morning.

"I was performing morning rituals at the temple. The idol of Hiranya Kasyap which was installed in the lap of Ugra Nrusingha idol, fell accidently on my right leg resulting in a fracture", Mohapatra said.

Doctors have referred him to Bhubaneswar for better treatment.
