Odisha STF Seizes Brown Sugar From Cuttack Hotel, Two Arrested

Cuttack: A team of Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch arrested a hotel owner and its employee in Ankula near Athgarh on old Cuttack-Sambalpur road after seizing 164 grams of brown sugar from their possession.

The approximate market value of the contraband recovered is estimated to be over Rs 7 Lakh.

It is worthwhile to mention here that, the Odisha Police has intensified its drive to crackdown against narcotics trade in the State. The Excise department had arrested a woman during raid at one of the hideouts of a notorious smuggler in Palasuni area on February 17, 2021 and seized Brown Sugar weighing 185 Grams from her.

Similarly, two drug peddlers were arrested at Panikoili in Jajpur on February 15, 2021 after 10 gram of brown sugar worth Rs 1 Lakh was seized from their possession.

During interrogation, the two drug peddlers admitted that they procured the brown sugar from Balasore and planned to sell it in Jajpur.
