Bhubaneswar: It was one of the rare occasions when people irrespective of class and creed came together on the clarion call of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to sing ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ in a show of solidarity with the frontline Corona warriors of the State.

The popular anthem reverberated in every nook and corner of the State and beyond. Be it politicians, bureaucrats, police, journalists or even the common man, everybody came forward and expressed their gratitude to the Corona warriors who are playing a crucial role in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.

The song ‘Bande Utkala Janani,’ which once had strengthened the bond among Odias during the struggle for a separate state of Odisha, again paved way for the people of the state to march in unison in our fight against COVID-19.

Earlier, CM Naveen Patnaik through a video message had appealed people associated with Odisha irrespective of their place of stay to sing ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ today at 5:30PM. Patnaik had also urged leaders of all political parties to support the initiative to boost the morale of frontline personnel.

Apart from Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle, many eminent personalities expressed solidarity with Odisha in its fight against COVID-19. Odias in London also took active part in the mass singing of Bande Utkala Janani.

Apart from several institutions, a group of singers from Berhampur recited Bande Utkala Janani with fervour.
