Odisha: Senior Railway Official Under CBI Scanner, Raids Underway

Bhubaneswar: A senior official of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) is under the CBI scanner for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

According to sources, on Wednesday, simultaneous raids were conducted by the officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on various places associated with Rabi Narayan Rath, posted as Railway Travelling Officer in ECoR, including his house in Kolathia area and his office in Bhubaneswar.

Till the last report was filed, searches were going on at multiple locations in the capital city.

In another development, the sleuths of the anti-corruption wing of Odisha today raided houses and property of forester of Subarnapur's Binika Range, Jagabandhu Barik, on allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets. The officials have simultaneously raided his office at Binika forest division, and his house at Santinagar, and another house near District Collectorate. The details regarding his movable and immovable assets would be known only after raids are over.
