Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 2589 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours pushing the State’s coronavirus positive tally to 67122, informed the State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department. This includes 21383 active cases and 45314 recoveries.

Ten more patients infected with coronavirus succumbed to the disease, subsequently taking the virus death toll to 372, said the State Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department.

Of the new cases reported from 29 districts of Odisha, 1574 were from quarantine centres and 1015 are local contact cases.

As per the data shared by I&PR department, Khurda reported the maximum caseload of 466 cases followed by Ganjam (242), Puri (235), Cuttack (222), Rayagada (211), Sundergarh (155), Balasore (150) and Mayurbhanj (117). Details of cases of other districts are mentioned below:


Similarly, four deaths were reported from Ganjam district, two persons succumbed in Khurda (Bhubaneswar), 2 in Sundergarh district and one each death was reported from Bargarh and Bhadrak district.

The Health and Family Welfare Department has shared the details of 10 Covid-19 positive patients who succumbed while under treatment in hospitals.

  1. A 46-year-old male of Bargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension.
  2. A 30-year-old female of Bhadrak district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease.
  3. A 32-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension.
  4. An 80-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.
  5. A 73-year-old female of Ganjam district.
  6. A 58-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  7. A 50-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  8. A 42-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  9. A 55-year-old male of Sundergarh district who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease.
  10. A 55-year-old female of Sundergarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension.

The Health Department further informed that 53015 Covid-19 tests including 5068 RT-PCR tests, 47834 antigen-based tests and 113 TruNat tests were conducted in the State on Tuesday.
