Odisha Sears Under Intense Heat, Bhubaneswar Hottest At 43.2 Deg For 2nd Consecutive Day

Bhubaneswar: It was another day of sweltering heat for almost the entire Odisha as temperature breached the highest mark of 43.2 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar, the State Capital city recording the maximum day time temperature in the State for the second consecutive day.

Bhubaneswar registered a 5.3-degree surplus departure from the average temperature, while three towns Boudh, Baripada and Titlagarh witnessed more than 42 degree Celsius.

Temperature breached 40-degree mark in as many as 17 towns in the State today. Jharsuguda with 41.8 degrees, Sambalpur and Nayagarh 41.5, Bolangir 41.2, Talcher 41.1 degree Celsius were some other weather stations where mercury jumped above 40 degrees.

The India Meteorological Department has informed that there has been a rise in the day time temperature in the State due to ingress of dry winds from west and north west direction.

The maximum temperature (Day temperature) very likely to rise gradually by 2-3 degree C at many places over the districts of interior Odisha during next 2-3 days and no large change thereafter, the IMD said in its latest bulletin.

Maximum temperature (Day temperature) will be above normal by 3-5 degree C at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha during next 48 hours and it will fall gradually by 2-3 degree C thereafter, the weather forecast body informed in its bulletin.
