Bhubaneswar: Prof Sanjeev Mittal has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Sambalpur University today. Odisha Governor and Chancellor Prof Ganeshi Lal selected him for the prestigious position.

"In exercise of powers conferred by Sub Section(1) read along with Sub Section(7) of Section 6 of Odisha Universities (Amendment) Act 2020, Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Odisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal appointed Prof. Sanjiv Mittal as Vice Chancellor of Sambalpur University," a statement issued by the office of the Governor said.

Mittal is presently working as Professor at the School of Management Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

Mittal will serve the western Odisha varsity for a period of four years with effect from the date he assumes office as such or until further orders whichever is earlier, said Governor’s office.

62-year-old Mittal had earlier proved his administrative calibre as head of the department of management studies at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, Haryana.

Having 29 years of academic experience, Mittal had spent 13 years as readers in various institutions.
