Odisha Sahitya Akademi Awards Announced For 2015, 2016
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Sahitya Akademi awards for the years 2015 & 2016 were announced today and 20 litterateurs have been selected for the coveted recognition in Odia literature.
The working council headed by Harihar Mishra announced the names of the litterateurs at the Sanskriti Bhawan in Bhubaneswar who will receive the prestigious Sahitya Akademi awards in nine categories.
For 2015, Nityananda Panda will receive the award for his novel ‘Gotie Jodi Gaon Ra Kahani’ while writer Pabitra Panigrahi will receive the award for his short story collection ‘Gapara Muhan’.
2015 awardees in other categories are:
Binapani Panda for poem ‘Godhuli Ra Gita’
Sanjay Hati and Nabin Kumar Parida – joint recipient for ‘Manchamaya’ and ‘Natua O Ananya Nataka,’ respectively in drama category
Panchanan Mishra for ‘Sahitya Samalochana Tattwika O Prayogika Prasanga’ in essay and criticism category
Dharanidhar Panigrahi for ‘Louha Manaba Sardar Patel’ in Biography and Travelogue category
Representing the categories of translation, children’s literature and lyrical poem, Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Rabindra Biswal and Manoj Mohanty will be getting the award for their works ‘Tathapi Kichi Rahijiba’, ‘Gachatie Gitatie’ and ‘Prati Palakare Tume’ respectively.
Laxmipriya Acharya for novel ‘Amba’.
Devdas Chotray for short story ‘Ramaku Maribara Panchoti Upaya’.
Bhagaban Jaysingh for his poem ‘Feranti Ghara’.
Fakir Singh for Drama ‘Atmalipi O Anyanya’.
Prasanna Kumar Swain for essay ‘Alochana Prasanga’.
Surendra Kumar Moharana and Pradosh Patnaik – joint recipient for ‘Professor Nabin Kumar Sahu’ and ‘Chalichi.. Chalibi Napadibi Thaki’ under biography and travelogue category.
Sharada Rath for translation ‘Meghabahan’.
Debendra Choudhury for children’s literature ‘Chuin Chadhei’.
Mishra Satynarayan for lyrical poem ‘Mishraraga’.
