An office order in this connection, which was issued by the Transport Commissioner of the State Transport Authority read, “Since, there are three Government holidays from 30 November 2020 to 1 November 2020 on the occasion of Laxmi Puja, it might be difficult for the vehicle dealers to get their newly sold vehicles registered at RTO Offices.”

Keeping the holidays in mind, the STA ordered that, the Registration Section of all RTOs will remain open for one day on 31 November 2020 from 3PM to 5PM to receive the registration documents from dealers and to allot registration numbers to vehicles. The RTO will also make necessary roster arrangement accordingly and also intimate all the dealers under their jurisdiction regarding the arrangement.

The STA further ordered that, “For smooth disposal of dealer point registration and approval, you can do it from home for all three days. In no case the dealers should deliver any new motor vehicle violating Rule 42 of CMV Rule 1989, without registration and without affixing HSRP number plate.” (SIC)

“All RTOs are instructed to check the dealer premises and ensure that, no vehicle is delivered without registration and affixing HSRP.
