Sambalpur: Unidentified miscreants made a futile attempt to loot Kadaligada branch of Union Bank under Rairakhol block in Sambalpur district on Friday night.

According to reports, miscreants entered the bank by cutting the iron grill at the entrance with a gas cutter. They also tried to break the locker of the bank, but could not steal money from its iron chest.

The bank manager Nihar Kishan informed that no money has been stolen by the miscreants.

“After getting a call, I reached the bank in the morning. The iron chest was found intact and the safe vault of the bank has only been cut. No cash has been stolen,” stated Kishan.

Being informed, Rairakhol police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
