Odisha Reports 6,998 Covid-19 Positive Cases, 12 Fatalities In 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday recorded 6,998 Covid-19 cases while 12 patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, said a data released by the State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Today’s surge pushed the State’s Coronavirus positive tally to 4,35,513 while the death toll surged to 2,029. The active cases in the State stood at 57,710 while 3,75,721 patients have recovered so far.

State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department data said, of the fresh cases spread across 30 districts, 4,054 were detected among people in quarantine and 2,944 were local infections.

As per the data released by the I & PR Department, Khordha recorded the maximum 919 cases while Cuttack with 517 cases remains second in the list.

Othr districts which detected cases over 100 are-Sundargarh (474), Nuapada (420), Jharsuguda (396), Bargarh (330), Angul (325), Sambalpur (323), Mayurbhanj (308), Kalahandi (292), Puri (288), Nawarangpur (255), Bolangir (236), Jajpur (226), Rayagada (181), Keonjhar (160), Sonepur (131), Ganjam (128), Gajapati (121), Nayagarh (121) and Jagatsinghpur (104).

The State has so far tested a total of 1,00, 41, 204 samples including 44,064 on Wednesday. Odisha’s positivity rate stands at 4.34 per cent.
