Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha reported 251 fresh Covid-19 infections taking the total tally to 3,30,117 on Friday. Of the fresh cases, 148 are from quarantine and 103 are local contact cases, informed the State I&PR Department.

None of the districts reported more than 50 cases. Sambalpur registered the highest number of 35cases followed by Sundargarh (34), Angul (31), Nuapada (23), Bargarh (15), Khordha and Jajpur (14 each).

As per State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, the death toll has jumped to 1880 with four more fatalities in the last 24 hours. Two deaths were reported from Khordha while Cuttack and Bolangir districts reported one each.

The health department has also shared the details of the Covid-19 patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals during the period.

A 41-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

A 80-year-old male of Bolangir district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.

A 94-year-old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease.

A 60-year-old male of Khordha district.

A total of 24,736 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 70, 00,844 in Odisha. Odisha's active caseload now stands at 2,451 while 3, 25,733 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
