Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha reported 245 fresh Covid-19 infections taking the total tally to 3,29,866 on Friday. Of the fresh cases, 139 are from quarantine and 106 are local contact cases, informed the State I&PR Department.

None of the districts reported more than 50 cases. Sambalpur registered the highest number of 35cases followed by Sundargarh (34), Angul (32), Mayurbhanj (17), Cuttack and Jajpur (15 each), and Bargarh (14) cases.

As per State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, the death toll has jumped to 1876 with 3 more fatalities in the last 24 hours. One death each was reported from Khordha, Cuttack and Nabarangapur districts.

The health department has also shared the details of the Covid-19 patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals during the period.

A total of 29,143 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 69, 76,108 in Odisha. Odisha's active caseload now stands at 2,505 while 3, 25,432 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
