Bhubaneswar: Amid concern over a second wave of COVID-19 in Odisha, the State has reported 290 fresh positive cases from across 22 districts in the last 24 hours taking the total caseload to 3, 401, 94.

As many as 171 cases have been detected from quarantine while 119 have been infected from local contacts, official sources said.

Similarly, total recovery cases reached 336571 with 89 fresh recoveries in last 24 hours.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 1650, government sources said.

However, no fatality has been recorded from anywhere during that time.

Khordha recorded maximum daily spike of 71 cases while Nuapada remained at second spot with 40 fresh infections.

Jharsuguda registered 21 cases while Cuttack saw a daily spike of 16 cases followed by Bargarh which added 15 cases during that time. As many as 11 cases have been detected in Sambalpur while Mayurbhanj and Angul districts registered 10 cases each.

Similarly, Bolangir, Kalahandi and Rayagada have registered nine fresh cases each in the last 24 hours.
