Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha reported 183 fresh Covid-19 infections taking the total tally to 3,30,492 on Sunday. Of the fresh cases, 106 are from quarantine and 77 are local contact cases, informed the State I&PR Department.

None of the districts reported more than 50 cases. Sundargarh registered the highest number of 32 cases followed by Angul (24), Khordha (14), Jajpur (11) and Kendrapara, Nuapada and Sambalpur (10 each).

As per State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, the death toll has jumped to 1885 with two more fatalities in the last 24 hours.

A death each was reported from Balasore and Sundargarh districts.


A 52-year-old male of Balasore district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

A 37-year-old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from RI-lower limb Amputation following RTA.

A total of 15,980 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 70, 28,873 in Odisha. Odisha’s active caseload now stands at 2,345 while 3, 26,209 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
