Bhubaneswar: Amid the declining coronavirus tests in the State, the Covid-19 cases continued to remain below 2000-mark on Thursday with 1617 new positives. At least 13 persons undergoing at various hospitals succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
With this, the total number of caseload in the State mounted to 287099 which included 15619 active cases and 270130 recoveries. Meanwhile, the death toll due to Covid-19 infection rose to 1297.
As per the State Information and Public Relations Department, of the fresh cases, 941 patients are from quarantine while 676 are local contact cases. Only two districts of the State recorded cases over 100- Khordha (222) and Cuttack (128).

Sharing the details of Covid-19 deaths, the State Health and Family Welfare Department informed that two patients each succumbed to the infection in Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Khordha (Bhubaneswar) and Nuapada while Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar and Sambalpur districts reported one death each.

As many as 41359 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the State to 4463559 on Thursday.
