Bhubaneswar: As many as 123 persons infected with COVID-19 recovered in Odisha on Friday, taking the total recoveries in the State to 1604.
Informing the development, State Health and Family Welfare Department said that the recovered patients are being discharged. While 35 patients recovered from Ganjam, 22 from Cuttack, 14 from Nuapada, 14 from Balangir, 10 from Khurda, 7 from Kandhamal, 5 from Koraput and 4 from Kendrapara.
With this, the active cases in the State now stand at 994 while death toll stands at eight.

Earlier in the day, the State reported 130 new coronavirus cases and one death. Cuttack reported highest 23 positive cases, followed by 22 each in Khurda and Mayurbhanj, Ganjam 12, 7 each from Gajapati and Sundergarh district.
Similarly, 6 cases were detected in Koraput, 4 cases each in Bargarh and Bhadrak, three cases each in Bolangir, Jajpur, Kandhamal and Kalahandi, two cases each in Kendrapada, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal, and one case each in Puri, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur , Angul and Sonepur.
On the other hand, a 63-year-old male of Khurda district who had tested positive for Covid-19 passed away while under treatment in a hospital. He was a chronic patient of diabetes and other underlying comorbidities, the State government informed.
