Bhubaneswar: In last 24 hours, Odisha reported 334 fresh Covid-19 infections taking the total tally to 3,28,201 on Sunday.  Of the fresh cases, 172 are from quarantine and 131 local contact cases, informed Information & Public Relations Department.

None of the districts reported more than 50 cases. Kendrapara and Khordha (31 each) registered the highest cases followed by Sundargarh (30), Keonjhar (23), Sambalpur (22), Bolangir (18), and Mayurbhanj (17).

As per State Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, the death toll has jumped to 1857 with 4 more fatalities in the last 24 hours. One death each was reported from Khordha, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Sundargarh districts.

The health department has also shared the details of the Covid-19 patients who succumbed while under treatment at hospitals during the period.

A 35 years old male of Bhubaneswar.

A 45 years old female of Kalahandi district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

A 65 years old male of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

A 70 years old male of Sundargarh district.

A total of 29,848 samples were tested in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tests to 67,99,952 in Odisha. After today’s surge, the State’s active caseload stood at 2,542 while 3,23,749 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
