Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday reconstituted the State Wildlife Board with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at its helm and Forest & Environment Minister, Bikram Keshari Arukh as his deputy.

The board was reconstituted under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 section-7 and wildlife protection (Amendment) Act, 2002 section-6. As per reports, the board will function for three years in its current form.

As per a press release issued by Odisha Information and Public Relations Department in this connection, Ramesh Chandra Sai, MLA of Athmallik, Rajkishore Das, MLA of Morada and DhrubacharanSahu, MLA of Rajnagar were selected as the members of the board among others.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and the Chief Wildlife Warden of Odisha have been appointed as the Secretary of the Board.
