Odisha: Rairangpur Additional SP Succumbs To Covid-19

Baripada: Coronavirus continues to take its toll on frontline warriors who have been leading the fighting against the pandemic. Additional SP of Rairangpur, Ashok Kumar Pattanaik became the latest from the State police department to fall prey to the virus.

Mayurbhanj SP took to Twitter to inform the news and wrote, “With deep sorrow, We inform that we have lost our #Corona_Warrior Addl. SP, Rairangpur, Shri Ashok Ku. Pattanaik due to COVID-19.  May his #soul Rest In Peace Folded hands.”

The SP described Pattanaik as an outstanding officer who had an illustrious 37 years of service period.

Meanwhile, the Odisha government on Wednesday said that it will pay compassionate assistance for martyred Covid warriors. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the announcement while reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the State.
