Pre-Poll Violence Surfaces In Balasore, 2 Critical

Balasore: A day before the by-polls, two persons sustained critical injuries after being allegedly attacked by a group of miscreants at Chandipur area here in the district on Monday.

According to sources, miscreants from a particular political party attacked another group with weapons leaving two critically injured.

The injured were initially admitted to Balasore hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.

Being informed, Balasore police rushed to the spot and detained five persons for their alleged involvement in the case.

Two platoons of police have been deployed at the spot.

Further investigation is underway into the incident.
