Odisha Police Vehicle In Hot Pursuit Of Ganja-laden Car Meets With Accident

Phulbani: An early morning hot pursuit came to an abrupt yet hazardous end after an Odisha Police van chasing a car, suspected to be carrying Ganja, fell into a ditch injuring the driver and cop inside it.

As per reports, the Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of Raikia Police Station in Kandhamal district, Alekh Garadia was in pursuit of a suspected car following a tip-off that it was illegally transporting Ganja. But after chasing the car for some time, the driver of the police van, Mithun Pradhan lost control of the vehicle near Mandakia and swerved off the road ramming into an earth mound.

Both the driver and the IIC sustained serious injuries in the crash and were immediately admitted to Raikia hospital for treatment.

However, the heroic efforts of the cops didn't go in vain, as the Ganja-laden car was later apprehended by the police.
