Bhubaneswar: High drama ensued after the daughter of an Odisha Police ADG was allegedly slapped by a lady traffic constable in Bhubaneswar today.

According to the statement of the victim identified as daughter of Additional Director General (ADG) of Railways and Coastal Security Pranabindu Acharya, the incident occurred while she was crossing the traffic post near AG square.

“Since it was peak traffic hour and I had stopped my car in front of the traffic signal, some people who had to take a U-turn were urging me to move my car. So I parked my vehicle a bit ahead of the zebra crossing as I had to go straight and was waiting for a few more seconds before the green light. Then suddenly a traffic constable came and slapped me and stopped my car. I asked the constable to make way because it was already green and when I moved a bit more, she came and slapped me” the official's daughter stated.

She further stated that she returned back and asked the cop to apologise saying that she had not done anything serious.

According to sources, she and her family members have apprised the top police officials about the matter.

“Although I have not lodged a written complaint, I have requested the police so that the traffic constable would apologise,” she said.
