Bhubaneswar: A total of 74.95 per cent students have passed the annual Plus 2 Commerce examinations 2020, the results of which were declared today by the Council of Higher Education (CHSE), Odisha.

"Altogether 32,772 students had appeared in the examinations this year of which 19,318 have passed. The pass percentage stood at 74.95, an increase of 4.69 per cent from the pass percentage of last year which was 70.26," School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash said.

As many as 12,215 male and 7103 female candidates have passed the examinations this year. While 6610 students secured 1st class, 4259 got 2nd class and 8361 3rd class.

The minister said 29 higher secondary schools have registered 100% results while two junior colleges recorded nil results in the examinations.

Dash further said that 40 students have scored above 90 per cent in the examinations this year compared to 31 last year. Nayagarh registered highest pass percentage of 88.70 while Deogarh's pass percentage remained lowest at 34.17 per cent.

This year, the result announcement was delayed by three months in comparison to last year due to the interruptions in the conduct of the examinations and evaluation process caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
