Kendrapara: At least ten passengers were injured after the bus they were travelling in overturned near Khumbaruni in Mahakalpara in the district.
Carrying over 50 persons, the bus was reportedly en-route to Bhubaneswar from Kendrapara when the driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle near Khumbaruni resulting in the mishap.
Meanwhile, the injured persons were admitted to the nearby hospital while four critically injured have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The bus was on the way to Bhubaneswar when the driver failed to control the vehicle while negotiating a curve near Khumbaruni and turned turtle. Several passengers sustained injuries in the mishap, said a injured passenger.
Another passenger said that the bus driver was not under the influence of drugs while driving the vehicle. "He (driver of the bus) couldn't turn the vehicle at the turning which led to the accident," he added.
On February 20, a man was killed while six others got injured when a bus they were travelling in fell off a ghat at Petarabadi under Daringbadi police station in Kandhamal district. The bus was en-route to Ranipanga from Daringbadi in the district when the mishap took place.
The driver reportedly lost control over the wheel following brake failure. The incident occurred while the driver was negotiating a curve. The bus skidded off road and turned turtle.
