Bhubaneswar: Odisha is mulling to reintroduce the pass-fail system in class 5 and class 8 in government schools. The plans were revealed by the School & Mass Education minister today.

Minister Samir Ranjan Dash who attended a parent-teacher meeting at a govt school today, informed that the department is planning to reintroduce the system that was earlier in place in schools.
"We are discussing to conduct exams in class 5 and 8. The students failing in class 5 will be given a chance to reappear the exams while the students who fail in class 8 will have to continue in the same class for another year," informed Dash.
