Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the crucial budget session of Odisha Assembly, a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been issued on Friday as a precautionary measure for prevention and containment of Covid-19.

As per the SOP, all members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly along with their Personal Security Officers (PSOs) and drivers will undergo RT-PCR test which will be conducted a special camp inside the Assembly premises by a team of doctors.

As per the SOP released by the State Health and Family Welfare Department, the COVID-test of all MLAs, their PSOs and drivers will be conducted between 8:30 am to 1:30 pm and between 3 pm to 5 pm on February 15 and 16.

The COVID test of all members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will continue from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on February 17.

As per the Health & Family Welfare Department’s release, after the budget session of Odisha Assembly from February 18 to March 4, 2021, RT-PCR test for all members of the Assembly along with their PSOs and drivers will be conducted.

As per the SOP, if any member feels uncomfortable during the Assembly session, they may go for Antigen test. The members will be provided with face-shield, mask, sanitisers, hand gloves daily before commencement of each sitting during the session.

“There will be RT-PCR test for all the officers and staff of the OLA Secretariat along with officers and staff of office of the Chief Minister, Ministers, Leader of Opposition, Government Chief Whip on February 15, 16 and 17th,” the notification read.
