Nabarangpur: Manohar Randhari, the BJD MLA from Dabugaon, grabbed attention from several quarters for single-handedly picking up a shovel to mend a kaccha road in his constituency.

As per reports, Randhari was recently going to distribute food items and raincoats to women farmers of a local village working on fields during the monsoon. But before he could reach the spot, his car got stuck in the muddy road leading to the village.

Subsequently, in no time, Randhari picked up a shovel and began to level the kaccha road with morrum soil deposited nearby. The incident came to light after videos of the same were found doing rounds on social media.

Asked, the legislator humbly said that he felt sorry that there are so many roads in the tribal-dominated Nabarangpur district which are absolutely non-motorable. The MLA further informed," I have asked the district administration to construct permanent pucca roads for the benefit of everyone."

While the incident has become the talk of the town in the entire constituency, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has also acknowledged the good deeds of Dabugaon MLA.

Describing Randhari as an example to the society, the BJD chief praised his party member for taking the job.

Earlier, on July 11 this year, a video showing former Chitrakonda MLA Dambaru Sisa's new avatar went viral on social media. In the video, Sisa who was the first person from Bonda tribe to be elected as MLA in 2014 on BJD ticket was spotted farming in Khairaput village.
