Angul: In a bizarre incident, Pallahara MLA Mukesh Kumar Pal lodged a complaint against a woman, who reportedly barged into the legislator's house at Balipasi village in Angul district with a marriage proposal.

The woman, identified as a resident of Mayurbhanj district and presently settled in Keonjhar, has also lodged a counter police complaint against the MLA at the Pallahara police station.

As per Pal's written complaint, the woman reached his house at Balipasi village at around 2 PM on Monday while he was away for a meeting in his constituency- Kharmar in Angul district- and told that she would stay put in his house unless the MLA marries her.

She told Pal's family members that he had promised her to marry her six months back and accused the legislator of giving false promises, the MLA mentioned in his FIR.

Later when Pal reached his house in Balipasi at around 9.30 PM and asked the woman to leave, she confronted and threatened him to ruin his political career by leveling false cases against him, alleged the legislator in his complaint.

The legislator further stated that he had received a marriage proposal through a common friend a year back following which he and the woman started speaking over phone and various social media platforms.

Initially, Pal had also assured her for marriage but as he did not like her personality after online dating, he turned down the proposal some six months back. Since then the woman has been head over heels in marrying him, alleged Pal.

When the woman refused to leave his residence, the MLA called Pallahara police over phone. A team of cops reached his house and took the woman to the police station. The police later dropped her in Keonjhar after interrogation on the same day.
