Bhubaneswar: A special POCSO court in Surat on Friday awarded death penalty to a man from Odisha who raped and brutally murdered his 14-year-old daughter in June 2017.

According to police, the accused Tukuna Das had repeatedly raped and impregnated his daughter. In a bid to cover up for the shameful act, Tukuna had allegedly strangulated the victim to death on June 29, 2017.

The matter came to light after Police found that the deceased minor girl was pregnant and a DNA of the foetus matched with that of Tukuna.
