Odisha: Man 'Attempts To Rape' Class 10 Girl Student, Flees Before Public Outrage

Berhampur: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly tried to rape a minor girl in Rambha police station area of Ganjam district on Friday.

According to sources, the man attempted to outrage the modesty of the 14-year-old girl near Paluru while she was returning to her home after finishing off her tuition classes at Subalaya. The girl is stated to be a student of class 10.

As per a complaint lodged in this connection by the girl's mother at Rambha police station, some locals rushed to the spot after hearing screams of the girl where the accused reportedly attempted to overpower her.

Before the locals could gauge what was happening, the accused had fled the spot in order to escape public wrath, said sources.

Police is yet to comment anything on the incident.
