Balasore: Devotees have no longer to wait to catch a glimpse of their revered deities as important temples and other religious shrines in the district are reopening today following the nine-month long hiatus due to the Covid-19 induced restrictions.

Among the famous shrines in Balasore, Remuna Khirachora Gopinath Temple, Nilagiri Jagannath and Panchalingeswar temples, Mallikashpur Imami Jagannath temple and Bhograi Chandanedwar Shiva temples reopened their doors for public darshan from Wednesday morning.

Emotions ran high as large number of devotees thronged the temples in the early hours for darshan of the deities. They were allowed to enter the temples while strictly following the Covid-19 norms. Temples authorities have made special arrangements for devotees for smooth darshan in a disciplined manner.

As per rule, devotees will be allowed darshan between 7:30 am and 6 pm every day at these temples. Covid-19 negative report has been made mandatory for the people visiting the shrines. They have to produce Covid-19 negative report obtained during the last 96 hours. Thermal scanning at the entry point, maintaining social distancing, use of hand sanitizer and masks has also been made mandatory for the visitors.

It is worth mentioning that among other major temples across Odisha, Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur, Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam, Baladebjiew Temple in Kendrapara, and Gorekhnath and Sarala Temples in Jagatsinghpur have also reopened their doors for public darshan from Sunday.
